Specific impression and design techniques are used to provide the best stability and retention for your bone structure. Photographs (when available), hints taken from your facial features, and your personality are used to create a custom, natural appearance. If available, photographs from high school, college, weddings, etc, can help guide us in the selection of tooth shape, shade, size and placement of your new denture.
While a conventional denture does not have the stability of an implant retained denture, we will customize your treatment from start to finish to ensure the best fit and esthetics of your new teeth.
Despite your best efforts or wishes to retain your natural teeth, it is sometimes in the best interest of your general health to have some or all of your teeth removed. Although this can be a very discouraging decision, many times it can be the best choice you can make. We work with you to create replacement teeth which can be placed immediately following surgery. This allows you to transition through this process while maintaining your smile.
Throughout the healing process, we work with you to maintain fit and comfort as your mouth continues to heal and your tissues conform.
Unfortunately, it may be necessary to have your denture or partial denture repaired due to broken teeth, clasps, base, etc. We understand how stressful this can be and are available to help remedy the situation.
Many repairs can be completed in our office, the same day. If your repair is more complex, we may need to utilize a local lab for repair.
Should you find yourself in need of a repair, please call our office to schedule an evaluation. Please provide details of the nature of the needed repair and if you have a spare denture to wear if needed. When possible, repairs can be made the same day.
With proper care and use, most dentures will continue to provide proper function for approximately 7-10 years. However, over the course of your lifetime, your tissues continue to recede, resorb, and change. A reline is a way to compensate for these changes, by replacing the tissue supporting portion of the denture to improve stability and retention. The best reline is performed at a dental laboratory which takes approximately 2 days. Most patients could benefit from a reline every 3-5 years.
During your treatment with our office, it is not uncommon to need some conventional treatment in addition to your prosthodontic needs. This may be a single crown, multiple unit fixed bridge, veneers, fillings, etc. Additional treatment can be combined with your prosthodontic treatment in our office if it will help provide an optimal result. However, you may also elect to have these more conventional treatment needs completed by your general dentist.
